About Me

I'm Matthew, a senior brand/advertising/shopper strategist/planning/insight professional with a passion for brands and human behaviour.  And forward slashes/.

I excel at taking the complex and making it simple, developing insight, propositions and strategies that excite clients, inspire creative teams, and effect audience behaviour.

​

I'm also an inquisitive fucker who doesn't stop til I've found the root cause of a problem, or the meaningful insight that unlocks creative.

 

My varied background of over 19 years experience in client side, senior client services, and agency Strategy roles, enables me to see the world through client’s eyes, understand the agency commercial model, and how to successfully integrate strategic thinking into creative work.

As Strategy & Planning Director I have worked to develop 'planning' as a function within agencies, making sure insight inspires effective creative work.

​

As a freelancer/consultant I work with agencies, brands, and collectives to use insight to develop creative solutions to business problems.

​

As well as doing the do (research, pitches, briefs) I am also available for consulting (with agencies on how to approach strategy and planning, and with brands on how to develop brand strategy), and collaboration with collectives and freelancers wanting insight and planning to add to their collective creative skillset.

I collect tattoos, grow my own fruit, roast my own coffee, annoy my own children with dad humour.
